From Noel Gardner
March 13 2007
Many years ago, I played in a duo with Mark Gillett.
We also played in the Hinterland Band and did some great gigs together and played support to some well-known performers.
Mark is a fantastic songwriter and his song Watching The Obi Flow won The National's Declan Affley Songwriting Award, in 1987.
He has been a driving force with the Red Kettle Folk Club for many years.
Mark is well respected and much loved, amongst coast and hinterland musicians.
As some would know, Mark has been fighting off cancer for some time now and using alternative treatments which are costly, so as well as this event being a celebration of The Red Kettle's ten year's existence, it is also a fundraiser for Mark and his wife Narelle, to help defray the cost of treatment.
I hope you can make it and enjoy a great day of music and fun.
Put your name on the blackboard from 2.00pm, if you want to play.
Please forward this on and tell your friends.
regards,
Noel
