THAT report (remember that 'water thing'?)

Most of you would have forgotten about it - with good reason.

However - after more than 2 years, the Maleny Integrated Sustainable Water Management Plan (MISWMP to you) is complete and ready to be considered by Council.

There have been some major problems with this report, not least the length of time taken.

To their credit, Council appointed a community reference group* to work on both the brief to the consultants and the report itself.

Unfortunately, this group has been largely excluded from the process over the last few months. I will ask one of this group to write up their take on the process. And I will also try to get the final project brief up on the site (makes interesting reading for people concerned about these things.)

The report will be considered by Council at a special meeting to be held Monday March 26th at 10am. The notice actually states that the meeting will consider the Caloundra and Maleny Integrated Sustainable Water Management Plan which I find confusing.

I am told the meeting itself might not be that interesting - but look forward to actually sighting the finished report.

I mean, it's only about one of the most important things facing us as a community.
