Save False Cape - Call to Action

Community Cabinet 1-5pm, Sunday Feb 11th, Atherton:

Rally & BBQ on the Esplanade, 10am, Saturday Feb 24, Pier Lagoon, The Esplanade, Cairns

Dear Save False Cape supporter

As the destruction on False Cape continues and the Beattie government continues to dodge responsibility, we continue calling for Beattie's intervention. The Council seems firmly in the developers camp. Having given approval for site works whilst an EPA refusal of public road access is before the courts, only the state

government can bring this to an end.

If you care for the future of Cairns and its surrounds, come along to one, or both of these events. Let Beattie know you expect more! The story in Pictures: http://www.cafnec.org.au/temp/False_Cape_Images/

Community Cabinet 1-5pm, Sunday Feb 11th, Community Hall, Atherton State High School, Maunds Road:

Meeting at CAFNEC (Cnr Greenslopes & Little Sts, North Cairns - Op. Centenary Lakes) at 11am for car pooling.

Please let me know if you would like a lift. I will hire a bus if I get enough interest. A bus would be around $10 each (much cheaper than driving yourself, more fun too).

To meet in Atherton, simply come to the school and meet at the entrance to the school buildings, in the school.

The Community Cabinet will be a great opportunity to give Beattie's cabinet our views on their inaction.

CAFNEC has applied to present our case to Cabinet and would love to have visible support from the

community. Come along and bring a placard to wave.

Wear red for "We're not happy Pete".

Rally & BBQ on the Esplanade, 10am, Saturday Feb 24, Pier Lagoon, The Esplanade, Cairns

False Cape is being damaged, the pristine outlook from Cairns may be lost forever, meanwhile our State

Government sits on its hands. Mr Beattie has the power to stop the destruction of your Scenic Rim, so turn up and show him you want it protected. Meet on the ocean side of the Lagoon.

Please let me know if you can put up a few posters in your neighbourhood. If so, you can come in and collect some, or I can email them to you for printing.

Bring yourselves, your family and friends down to the Esplanade. A peaceful morning of speakers and a BYO

BBQ.
