Former Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) governor Ian Macfarlane is to become a director on the board of retailer Woolworths Ltd.
Woolworths said former Berri Ltd chief executive Alison Watkins would also join its board, with both appointments effective from Tuesday.
"The directors are delighted that Alison and Ian have accepted our invitation to join the Board," said Woolworths chairman James Strong.
"Their extensive and valuable experience will be excellent additions to the skills and experience of the board."
Former Woolworths boss Roger Corbett joined the RBA board in December 2005. Mr Macfarlane stepped down as RBA governor in September last year.
