Environment court to decide supermarket development

The Land and Environment Court will decide whether the contentious Woolworths at Burrell Place development in Griffith can proceed.

The dispute between Griffith City Council and a group of local residents is expected to be heard at the end of September.

A fighting fund has been set up and organiser Bill Lancaster is hoping that residents will help pay legal fees of about $50,000.

The old Exies on Burrell club building on the site has already been demolished.
